Answer the Call

I would be in my own movement practice when visions would surface —
me, guiding women through rhythm and release.
A whisper from something greater: remember why you’re here.

Movement has always been my foundation.
It’s how I express what words can’t.
How I process emotion, connect deeply, and radiate light.

But my path wasn’t linear.
In 2020, I walked away from an industry that no longer felt like home —
racism, body shaming, and scarcity took the joy out of teaching.
I didn’t know if I’d ever return.

For nearly five years, I healed.
I unlearned.
I listened to the wisdom of my own body.

Then, in June 2024, two sisters held space for me to heal my teaching wound.
Their love reminded me that teaching could feel safe again — fluid, sacred, free.
Seeds were planted. 🌱

By November, the call grew louder —
to move, to share, to transmute fear into love.

It started in my living room.
Then the backyard.
A community center. A dance studio.
And most recently — an art gallery.

Every space, a reminder:
what once felt like pain has become purpose.

I’m grateful I answered the call.
I’m grateful to guide.
And I can’t wait to see how this practice continues to unfold.

What has been speaking to you lately? How can you answer the call?
