What We Repeat, We Strengthen
It's been almost a month since the last Portal gathering at Keith House, and this pause has brought moments of reflection, awareness, and reset. Spirit is reminding me to return to the practices that nurture and hydrate my soul. Divine timing, since the next Portal is all about the spiritual practices and rituals that anchor us. This season, and the retrograde alongside it, has shown me where I've drifted from breath work. I'm being invited to begin again.
Spiritual evolution takes practice. The practice of centering our minds and bodies amid chaos and chatter. But centering isn't spiritual bypassing. It's staying in awareness of our light and inner knowing, and this season of pause has offered the stillness to listen and receive that wisdom.
Looking ahead to fall, I'm thinking about what will keep me centered as the year's second half fills up with school, sports, and gatherings. Since launching The Portal, I've realized how much I need nature on a monthly basis. Time in nature pulls me out of the details of life and reminds me to move the way nature does, with a cadence that values both movement and stillness.
Recently, at Dinosaur Valley State Park, I watched a turtle sunbathing on a rock — peaceful, present, taking up space. Now, when my body asks me to slow down, I picture that turtle and heed its advice.
This pause has made one thing clear: I need more silence and stillness. I need a framework that honors rest, justice, equanimity, movement, growth, and peace. Scheduled, intentional time to restore my soul and converse with spirit. If that's speaking to you, I'd love for you to join The Portal Pass.
A four-month journey. Together we'll hold what's tender, move what feels stagnant, and discover what's possible when we lead with love, curiosity, and care. What we repeat, we strengthen. So place yourself on the calendar. Every third Sunday, August through November, we'll gather for movement, stillness, and breath, each month exploring a theme that follows the season's cadence and leaves you with embodied practices that stay long after we part.
This is how we strengthen the trust between ourselves and our bodies, and build the wisdom to self-regulate through movement, breath, and meditation. Creating a consistent connection to something deeper.
The Portal feels like part dance party with friends, part therapy session with my younger self, part shedding of anger and rage — body-led, liberated movement and guided breath work, held in the contemplative, creative space of Keith House.
Let's put that energy on the calendar. We strengthen what we practice. Let's build that strength and cultivate awareness, together.
